Commercial Building Fire

B Shift responded to a commercial building fire in the first week of June.

Engine 4 was first on scene, their crew found 2 large storage rooms fully involved. Fire Crews were able to get a quick knockdown and save the building.

Training at St. Francis Hospital

Parker Fire Department and many personnel from the St. Francis Hospital trained together in the month of July. The training was set up so that the Fire Department could practice placing there 95 foot Platfom and to also practice with St. Francis personnel on performing a emergency evacuation of patients. The training was held for 3 nights in a row in which all 3 Fire Department Shifts were involved along with many personnel from St. Francis Hospital.

Greenville County Mobile Air System

Greenville County Cobra Team, with the help of Home Land Security Department, was awarded this Mobile Air System. The system is used for filling air cylinders with grade "E" air for firefighters and also the county dive team. Parker Fire Department maintains, mans, and houses the system at Station 3. This Mobile Air System is available for use by any Fire Departments in Greenville County.

Parker Fire Department has several specialized fire personnel involved with County, State, and Regional Teams such as the Greenville County ERT , USAR, and the Regional Cobra Team.

Parker Fire Department completes the "Rescuing the Rescuer" Course

Parker Fire Department is a part of Greenville County's Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.). The team has been developed by several of Greenville County's Fire Chiefs due to the limitations of manpower at emergency scene's. The Greenville County R.I.T. (Rapid Intervention Team) will be available to all of Greenville County's Fire Departments as needed on emergency scene's. The purpose of R.I.T. is to provide search and rescue of lost, trapped, of injured firefighter's at emergency scene's. The Greenville County R.I.T. will go into effect on January 1, 2007.
